Why Study Communication?
Communication Studies at UNC Greensboro explores human communication as a means of connecting people, creating change, and working toward a just world.
Recent alumni hold roles in public relations, event planning, marketing and sales, real estate, project management, insurance, fundraising and development, and advocacy.
What Is Communication Studies?
According to the National Communication Association:
“At its foundation, Communication focuses on how people use messages to generate meanings within and across various contexts, and is the discipline that studies all forms, modes, media, and consequences of communication through humanistic, social scientific, and aesthetic inquiry.”

What Can You do With a Communication Studies Degree?
Besides going on to be effective citizens in their relationships, families, workplaces and communities, there are some broad patterns of career choice that our graduated tend to follow. We have been tracking our students and what they go on to do as part of our departmental assessment processes. They do go in a wide variety of directions including but not limited to:
