After graduating from UNCG in 2004, James moved to Fresno, California. He was hired on at the local food bank as director of marketing and development, responsible for all marketing, public relations, and fundraising. Two years later, he transferred to Fresno Pacific University, working in the communications office as editor of the university website. In November of 2007, James accepted a position as director of community relations for the university.
In addition to his work at the university, James is co-founder of a web consulting and development company, which focuses on online communities and communication.
James considers his studies in communication a broad, but solid foundation for further education; he is a graduate of Leadership Fresno, a year-long development program offered through the Greater Fresno Chamber of Commerce, and recently completed his master’s degree in leadership and organizational studies. He has also served on several local committees and boards, recently completing a term as president of the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
