Kayla Maynarich – B.A. 2009

I chose to major in Communication Studies at UNC Greensboro because I felt that effective communication skills would give me a leading edge in the business world. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. In addition to learning how to be an effective communicator, I also developed vital leadership skills. Upon completion of the program at UNCG, I completed a Master’s degree in Communication Studies at UNC Charlotte. I am forever grateful of the faculty at UNCG for pushing me to reach my full potential. They truly ignited a passion in me for success in all areas of my life.

I am now working as an Account Manager for Phase 3 Media in Charlotte, NC. Phase 3 Media is a design and print firm focused on providing a complete range of creative and print services to large corporations throughout the Southeast. As an Account Manager, I build and maintain client relationships in order to ensure that all of their creative and print needs are met. I oversee client projects from start to finish, which includes consulting, strategy, design, print, and fulfillment. The keys to success in my career are effective and efficient communication, collaboration, leadership, and ethics. These are skills that are a direct result of the Communication Studies program at UNCG.
